With two decades of leadership in public and non-government settings Andrew brings a grounded understanding of what it takes to deliver in environments where workforce pressures, risks, stakeholder expectations and public accountability are high. He is a public purpose strategist, leader and trusted advisor who is passionate about supporting leaders and teams to navigate complexity and achieve outcomes for the community.

As Head of Operations and Growth, Andrew leads SSC’s operations and supports the ongoing growth of the practice. His focus is on ensuring that as SSC scales, we stay anchored in partnership, quality and impact - strengthening the systems, ways of working and delivery discipline that sit behind great consulting.

What Andrew Brings

Andrew brings both the strategic mindset and people-orientated approach that Social Sector Consulting is known for. He complements this with an evidence-based and empirical skillset, and deep expertise in organisational capability development.

He helps leaders cut through noise, surface the real constraints, and align governance and strategic narrative so organisations and programs can build engagement and move form intent to action with confidence. He brings strengths in working at the intersection of government and the social sector, supporting organisations to deliver outcomes while navigating scrutiny, accountability, policy settings and stakeholder expectations.

As a CEO he led organisational, brand and reputational growth of a professional body representing over 280,000 members, working closely with leaders from government, non-profit, private, and academia to strengthen organisational outcomes as well as inter-sector dialogue and insight.

Andrew is completing a PhD on public leadership, power and systems - sharpening his ability to diagnose root causes, support stewardship and build credible narratives that resonate across systems.

Pragmatic and psychologically attuned, Andrew is known for calm structure, strong judgement, and the ability to hold multiple perspectives without losing momentum. He works with leadership teams to frame decisions, make trade-offs explicit, and build shared understanding that improves execution and delivery.

His approach blends strategic sense-making with practical tools that are fit for purpose, usable under pressure, and designed to build internal capability rather than create dependence.

  • Holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons I), Graduate Certificate in Governance and Public Policy, and is undertaking PhD research on public leadership in reform contexts, with a focus on systems, power and practice

Beyond Work

Outside of work, he values family most of all and aims to support his sons to grow into good humans. He enjoys travel, new experiences, good food and encouraging his boys in their interests (which currently involves two cricket games every weekend).
